He asked to present a case on behalf of the opponents mentioned in the video. The teenager threatened to spread the rape incident on social media if she refused. Even without Shakib’s consent, some media workers got close to the video. When the police learned of the incident and questioned the girl, the real picture came out. The victim filed a case under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act at the police station. Police arrested Bakhate Shakib.
Sonagazi Model Police Station OC Mohammad Sajedul Islam said the victim’s statement was taken when it was presented in the court of Senior Judge Sharaf Uddin Ahmed on Monday afternoon. At the same time, Bakhate Shakib was produced and rolled up for 7 days. The court granted a preventive detention for two days after the hearing.
Meanwhile, Upazila BCL President Abdul Motaleb Chowdhury Robin said that Shakib does not hold any position in the BCL. However, a police source said that since the arrest, upazila-level party leaders have pressured the police station to release him.
