The Vice President (VP) Nurul Haque Nur of the Dhaka University Central Student Union (Daksu) clashed and persecuted the BCL for the delivery of flowers at the Great Victory Day memorial.
The incident took place around 9 am on Wednesday (December 16) at the Farooqi Park memorial area in the district city. Leaders of the Council of Students and Youth Rights said that at least 10 leaders and activists of the organization were injured.
Witnesses said that in the morning, supporters of VP Noor went to pay their respects at the monument under the banner of the Brahmanbaria Youth and Student Rights Council. At that time, the BCL district president, Rabiul Hossain Rubel, and his supporters prevented them from paying tribute to the activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir. Later, while leaving the memorial area with flowers, BCL leaders and activists persecuted the students and leaders and activists of the Youth Rights Council. At that time, there were clashes between the students and the leaders and activists of the Youth Rights Council.
The incident caused panic in the memorial area. Later, BCL leaders and activists marched down the road in front of the monument with the national flag snatched from students and youth rights council leaders and activists.

The leaders of the Chhatra League stopped us and asked us to bring 4-5 people to the monument to give flowers. We leave the monument with 4-5 people according to your instructions with flowers. Later, in retaliation, BCL leaders and activists suddenly attacked us. At least 10 people, including the chairman of the district committee, Ashraful Hasan, were injured.

BCL District President Rabiul Hossain Rubel said: “We have not had any confrontation or persecution with the Student Rights Council. They went to the monument with Shiva workers to give flowers.
