Star Cineplex’s contract with Bashundhara is renewed. As a result, six Star Cineplex theaters in the Bashundhara City Mall are not closed.

Previously, it was reported that 6 theaters of Star Cineplex in the Bashundhara City Mall were closed on September 1 due to the expiration of the contract. However, today, September 9, it was announced that Star Cineplex is renewing the contract.
Khorshed Alam Khasru told The Daily Star Online: ‘I found out today that the Bashundhara Mall is not closing at the Star Cineplex. I spoke with Mahbub Rahman Ruhel, President of Star Cineplex. Bashundhara is staying at the Star Cineplex. He informed me that the contract would be renewed.
Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, senior manager of the company’s media and marketing department, told The Daily Star Online: “Details will be revealed tomorrow. I can’t say anything now. Tomorrow I will be able to tell everything.
It is known that Bashundhara had an agreement with the authorities of Star Cineplex until October of this year.
Star Cineplex started operations in 2004 from the town of Bashundhara on Panthapath. They have three more multiplex cinemas in the capital. These are found at Border Square in Dhanmondi and SK Tower in Mohakhali. Another multiplex surrounds Mirpur Sony Cinema Hall awaiting opening.
