Barisal secured the play-off as the fourth team by winning by 2 runs against Dhaka in an impressive match. Rajshahi left before the play-off with the victory of Barisal led by Tamim Iqbal. Chittagong, Khulna and Dhaka confirmed the playoffs against Barisal.
In a life or death match at Mirpur on Saturday, Barisal was getting the fragrance of victory by picking up three wickets for 72 runs with a 193 run average. Dhaka starter Naeem Sheikh did his best to break Tamim’s dream of victory.
The star starter took Yasir Ali for the fourth wicket and made a pair of 110 59-ball runs. Naeem Sheikh marked the first century of her T20 career in this pair.
Dhaka needed 22 runs of the last 12 balls to win. Naeem Sheikh and Yasir Ali were hitting for 105 and 36 runs respectively. If Harley wins, the play-off is guaranteed. Tamim Iqbal and Saif Hasan got off to a good start after losing the draw against Dhaka in a tough match on Saturday.
Tamim (19) returned for 59 races. Then Parvez Hossain Emon (13) came back with a gap of 23 runs. Saif Hasan took the fifth and returned to the bathroom. Before that, he made 50 runs on 7 fours of 43 balls.
