Police arrested a man named Rafiqul Islam (40) on charges of indecency after he found a client alone at her home in Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh. He was sent to jail through court on Tuesday.
Rafiqul Islam is the branch manager of Tentulia Grameen Bank and a resident of the Tetia Kandapara area of Shahjadpur upazila in Sirajganj.
The incident took place at Colonypara Adarshagram in Tentulia Sadar on Monday night. Last night, the woman’s husband filed a case with the Tentulia Model Police Station under the Law for the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children.
According to the complaint, the victim lives with her husband and children in the village of Kolonipara Adarsh. She is a Grameen Bank customer. Rafiqul Islam has been working in that branch of the bank for the past two years. He met the woman 1 year ago. The bank manager wants to rent a house to the woman because she is known.
Rafiqul went to the victim’s house last night to rent a house. Right now he wants to eat noodles. Later, as there were no eggs in the house, Rafiqul sent the woman’s daughter to the market to bring eggs. At that moment, he found the woman alone at home and tried to abuse her with a bad proposal. At that time, the locals arrived and arrested Rafiqul Islam and reported it to the Tentulia police.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Tentulia Model Police Station, Zahurul Islam, said: “Rafiqul Islam was sent to jail through the court on Tuesday.”
