Dhaka: The government of Bangladesh has signed a memorandum of understanding to obtain 30 million doses of the corona virus vaccine manufactured by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
The MoU was signed in the meeting room of the Ministry of Health in the Secretariat on Thursday (November 5) in the presence of the Minister of Health, Zahid Malek.
The Ministry of Health signed memoranda of understanding with the Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd. of India and Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. of Bangladesh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister said that the serum institute will provide 30 million doses of vaccine in the first phase once the vaccine is made. Beximco Pharmaceuticals will bring this vaccine to Bangladesh.
“We can give this vaccine to 1.5 million people,” he said. Because a person will need two doses of vaccine.
The MoU was signed by Mostafa Kamal, Additional Secretary of the Division of Health Services, Ministry of Health and officials of the Serum Institute and Beximco Pharmaceuticals.
