They have not given up on their demands and threats, they have repeatedly said so and are involved in a conspiracy to heat the ground on this sculptural subject. Their purpose is clear: they will not keep the Bangabandhu sculpture in the country at any cost. That’s why they say they have broken it before, they will break it again, they will throw it in Buriganga. With this threat, they did not hesitate to indirectly threaten the death of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The prime minister will be seen, the prime minister will see the sun rise but the sun will not set: they had such a sentence in a presumptuous threat.
Surprisingly, the Awami League didn’t even utter a word on the subject of the Father of the Nation sculpture. Spokesmen for the Awami League did not speak. The party’s general secretary says they are monitoring the situation. There are so many Awami Leaguers across the country, but in some places there is no other program except for some isolated, personal protests.
When Charmonai Pir-Mamunul Haque threatened to throw Bangabandhu’s sculpture in Buriganga, Sheikh Hasina publicly threatened to kill her, the leaders and workers of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations were busy with the central committee of the League’s youth organization Juba League. I have seen this rise, this praise among members of the Awami League who want to be leaders and leaders of the living Prime Minister. But despite the disparaging comments about the Bangabandhu sculpture, most remain silent.
I can understand why they are silent. Because the current Awami League is desperate to become the darling of reactionaries rather than progressives. Not only can they not add the word Muslim to their names, but they also practice the religion as a group. I have seen Awami League leaders and activists, MPs and ministers create a comparative atmosphere and say that Hasina is more religious than Khaleda. The Prime Minister prays and recites the Tahajjud prayers; they also pay attention to this propaganda from time to time. They want to advance the discussion that the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has established the Islamic Foundation. I have also seen Bangabandhu in the service of Islam organizing such a discussion on the government-controlled television channel BTV.
What is the benefit of the Awami League? There doesn’t seem to be any gain; Rather, the damage has been a lot! So when the Charmonai-Mamunul-Nooranis are propagating the sculpture as an idol and supporting it as a crime like shirk, a large part of the Awami League is engrossed in this propaganda, they have also started to believe that the Bangabandhu sculpture is the same. to shirk; It’s a sin. A class of people has arisen here who at first think of sculpture as an idol.
There is another class that has merged the two without understanding the difference between sculpture and sculpture. There is another class that thinks that the sculpture of Bangabandhu is a sculpture but they also have objections about the idol. There is another class that has no objections to sculpture and sculpture, which deserve respect. It goes without saying that the latter class of believers are actually outnumbered.
The more the Awami League leans towards religion, the more the party has suffered. As a result, the number of idiots has increased more than the number of idiots. That is why the supporters of this Awami League are the first to believe that everything religious businessmen say is a sin. Therefore, the opposition to the construction of the Bangabandhu sculpture, the audacity to throw the Bangabandhu sculpture into the Buriganga if it is built, the threat to assassinate Sheikh Hasina is not becoming a reaction to the Awami League.
This Awami League disgrace does not bode well for the future of the party. Sheikh Hasina is currently the sole leader as Bangabandhu’s successor. The future of the leadership of this party is uncertain, as Bangabandhu has no other legacy except Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana. The Awami League has not responded to this threat from religious entrepreneurs during Sheikh Hasina’s lifetime. Needless to say, this is not a useful event for the future politics of the Awami League.
Even if Sheikh Hasina is the prime minister, if Mamunul Haque can make such a threat against Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina, what can happen in the next few days? Especially this class of people are born haters. His hatred of Mujib is mainly due to Bangabandhu Mujib’s leadership and involvement at all levels of the birthing process in Bangladesh. They have kept the ideological line of their predecessors intact.
Because in 1971, Pakistan, a religious country, persecuted the people of Bangladesh in the name of religion and carried out genocide; And in the name of that religion, the leaders of Mamunul Haq-Charmonai Pirs, the predecessors of Jamaat-e-Islami-Nezam-e-Islam, collaborated in that genocide. The historical truth of the 1971 war is inciting the anti-Bangabandhu sentiments of the Mamunuls just as the predecessors of the Mamunuls were hostile to Bangabandhu.
I’m saying that ‘sculpture is not an idol, it’s an art’ just to inform emotional delusions. This information is not intended to justify, but to impart knowledge. What I’m saying here is that no one has the right to break not only sculptures but idols as well. Who will build the sculpture with respect and artistic thought, who will build the idol for worship is a personal matter. The state did not intervene in this personal matter. This interference is criminal and there are penalties. Neither the Charmonai-mamunul nor the religious merchants of the same tribe have the possibility to remain outside this arrangement.
The government wants to build a sculpture, not a statue of Bangabandhu. This discussion is relevant to the confused, but it is irrational to think far into the future. Because the message it transmits is that not only can sculpture be broken, but idols can be broken; This is not a good sign. This message must be established, nothing can be broken, be it sculpture or idol, no one has this right.
The objection of religious political leaders, including Charmonai Pir and Mamunul Haque, to the Bangabandhu sculpture is not just a claim that arises by chance. The confrontation that they have starred in the capital this time is planned in advance and is a strategy to pressure the government. Evidence of this can be found in the words of Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque, the acting secretary general of the Khilafah Majlis and the deputy general secretary of the newly formed committee of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh. On November 22, Mamunul Haque, in his verified Facebook ID, admitted in a lengthy article titled “Anti-Sculpture Movement, Obstacles in Mahfil, Conversation of a Mashrafe Bin Mortuza and Our Next Thought” that this movement is their planned movement.
In that article, Mamunul Haque states that he and Charmonai Pir Rezaul Karim have been tasked with creating the situation in consultation with the government, and for this they have organized a large meeting in the open field. Mamunul Haque wrote there: “They have come to speak to me because they believe that Mr. Farid Masood’s words are reasonable. I listened to your long work. I understood his attitude. And I promised them my support and cooperation.
Initially, it was decided that a large field program would be organized with Faizul Karim Bhai and myself. They said goodbye to me after discussing that draft plan. Then, on November 13, there was a large demonstration in the Badjuma Dhupkhola camp. ” From this confession of Mamunul Haque it is clear that Maulana Farid Uddin Masood is also in the middle of this fiery plan. The writings of this Hefazat leader further reveal that they also have objections to the construction of the Bangabandhu sculpture to be built next to the Bangabandhu Bridge and want to stop it at any cost.
Religious businessman Charmonai Pir and Mamunul Haque Gangra have threatened to stop the construction of the Bangabandhu sculpture and throw it into the Buriganga if it is built, they have presented the religion there in a subtle way. The Awami League’s own leaders and workers are divided and confused in their religious propaganda. This confusion has spread from the center to the margins in such a way that they do not have the courage to go out on the field against him. Some attempts have been made to protest locally in Chittagong. There is no such thing as a program. It bears witness to the political and ideological bankruptcy of the Awami League. The current Awami League is divided in such a way that part of the party regards the war criminal Sayedee as an Islamic scholar, part considers the ideological war criminal disciple Mizanur Rahman Azhari as a religious leader, part considers the late leader of Hifazat-e-Islam Allama Shafi as a religious leader, part of Hifazat as a friend of the government and No part of the government even investigates attracting enemies; As if the Awami League were the tail of those religious parties and leaders.
This state of ideological erosion did not come to the fore in a rush, it was mainly due to the political role of the Awami League with regard to religious sentiments. This trend will not allow the Awami League to advance, this trend will not strengthen the Awami League, it will weaken it; It is also proof of the party’s lack of response from the highest level to the fringe level despite the threat of throwing it into the Buriganga if the Bangabandhu sculpture is made.
Religion is for the individual, it is not a matter of state practice, it is not a matter of political party practice. When the religion of the individual is imposed on the state, Charmonai Pir-Mamunul Haqgangra can successfully carry out his conspiracy. For them, the sculpture of the great hero of the country’s birth war also became a matter of throwing the Buriganga. Religious misconceptions about the construction of the Bangabandhu sculpture and the threat of extremism in the name of religion must be strictly stopped. Because of this threat, no one will be able to shirk responsibility if something disturbing happens in various parts of the country, including Qawmi Madrasa. Charmonai Pir-Mamunul Haqgangra cannot escape its responsibility; The Awami League and the government will not be able to shirk their responsibility by sitting quietly. It is important to remember that it is not only a crime to spread extremism, it is also a crime to expose extremism.
