Stating that Bangabandhu’s dream of ‘Golden Bengal’ is in line with Nepal’s resolution ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’, President Bhandari said: “All of our activities are aimed at making Nepal a prosperous country. Through development, Nepal and Bangladesh will also contribute to the socio-economic development of South Asia ”.

Calling for initiatives to reduce the trade deficit, he said: “We have an opportunity to further accelerate bilateral trade in the medium term. Nepal has a growing trade deficit with Bangladesh.
For trade to be profitable for both countries, it is necessary to reduce the deficit. To further accelerate bilateral trade relations, trade barriers must be removed, infrastructure must be developed and market access must be facilitated. “
Vidya Devi Bhandari also said that India needs a tripartite initiative with Nepal-Bangladesh to increase cooperation in the energy sector.
