The Prime Minister of Bhutan, Lotte Shering, has strongly praised the continued progress and development of Bangladesh. He said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has given a good story to tell Bangladesh to the people of the world.
He spoke as a guest of honor on the eighth day of ‘Mujib Chiranton’ at the National Parade Square in Dhaka on Wednesday evening. Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called on South Asian political leaders and policy makers to work together to build a peaceful and prosperous South Asia.

At the beginning of her speech, Lotte Shering greeted the King, Queen, people and government of Bhutan and the kind people of Bangladesh. He said: “It is always a pleasure to return to Bangladesh. I call Bangladesh my “second home”. The reason for coming to Bangladesh this time is more important. “He said,” I have come here for two special celebrations. As you all know, we are celebrating the centenary of the birth of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and celebrating 50 years of the country for which he gave his life.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has told a good story to tell Bangladesh to the people of the world. I am so proud today that I had the opportunity to sit next to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to hear that story. I am very proud that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is an inspiring leader. She is like a mother to me. ‘
Referring to the virtual conversations with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Lotte Shering recalled her encouragement and advice. He said: ‘Although I am far away, I feel a lot of concern and interest in her (Sheikh Hasina) for the people of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is very lucky to have him as a leader. The Prime Minister of Bhutan said: “I am sure that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is proud of Bangladesh and his daughter Sheikh Hasina.”

The Prime Minister of Bhutan said: “The development forecast for Bangladesh is more excellent. The future of Bangladesh and the Bangladeshis is very bright. We are proud of the progress that Bangladesh has made. Because we know that the strong economy of Bangladesh will further boost the economy of this region, including Bhutan.
Lotte Schering points out the similarities between the Bhutanese king’s philosophy of “Gross National Happiness” and the Bangabandhu philosophy of “friendship with all, no enmity with anyone.” He said in Bengali: “Sheikh Mujibur Rahman thought ‘there is no enmity with anyone.’ And our king thought: ‘Peace and harmony are the key to success.’

Sheikh Hasina’s call to build a peaceful South Asia
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called on South Asian political leaders and policy makers to work together to build a peaceful and prosperous South Asia. Recalling Bhutan’s recognition of Bangladesh as an independent state on December 6, 1971, Sheikh Hasina said that they had heard the announcement on the radio while in captivity.
The Prime Minister said: ‘The cooperation between Bangladesh and Bhutan in the fields of trade and communications, tourism, education, etc. it is increasing continuously. A significant number of Bhutanese students are pursuing higher studies at various universities in Bangladesh, including medicine. Said the Prime Minister. Lotte Shering graduated in medicine from Mymensingh Medical College. It is a source of great pride for us. We are proud to be a part of Bhutan Human Resource Development.
Sheikh Hasina said: “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib not only fought for the political and economic liberation of the people of Bangladesh, he also dreamed of the liberation of all the oppressed and disadvantaged peoples of the world. It was respectful of peaceful coexistence and territorial integrity. He believed that any problem could be solved through mutual cooperation.
The Prime Minister said: “We can easily improve the lot of the people of South Asia by using the resources we have acquired on the basis of mutual cooperation.” If we work together for the betterment of our people, South Asia is sure to become one of the most prosperous regions in the world.
