Citizens of 20 countries have been banned from entering Saudi Arabia beginning at 9 p.m. local time on February 3 to prevent the second wave of coronavirus and new epidemics.
Apart from Bangladesh, 20 countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa are covered by the ban.
Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, the United States, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Pakistan, Brazil, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Turkey, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Lebanon, Egypt, India and Japan, according to the Interior Ministry.
The people of these countries will be subject to temporary sanctions. However, citizens of Saudi Arabia, embassy officials, doctors and their families are currently exempted from the ban. The Ministry of the Interior has issued the travel ban on the advice of the Ministry of Health.
Earlier, on January 3, the country lifted the travel ban to Saudi Arabia and announced the launch of all types of flights.
Saudi Arabia has decided to abruptly suspend international flights on December 21 following a new coronavirus outbreak in the UK. It was subsequently extended for another seven days, and Saudi Arabia lifted the ban 15 days later.
