The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Badal and Delwar, the main defendant in the case of posting on social media the video of the attempted rape and indecent assault on a housewife in Begumganj, Noakhali.
Badal was arrested in Narayanganj on the Dhaka Highway and Delwar in Narayanganj in a relentless raid by the RAB-11 from midnight Sunday to early Monday morning.

“After the case in the nationwide incident was closed, we received the news that some of the people involved had taken positions in Dhaka to cover their bodies,” he said. On that news, RAB-11 increased surveillance. Badal, the main defendant in the case, was arrested in the Dhaka highway area at midnight and Delwar, the Delwar force commander, was arrested in the morning in Narayanganj with weapons.
He added that the details will be released at a press conference at the RAB-11 office in Narayanganj at noon. The accused will then be handed over to the person concerned.
It can be mentioned that on September 2, around 9 p.m., the local Badal and his associates entered the house of the housewife in the house of Nur Islam Miah in the Khalpar area of District 9 of the Eklashpur Union of the upazila and tied up her husband in the next room. Then they tried to rape the housewife. At that moment, when the housewife interrupted, they undressed, brutally beat her and took video images on their mobile phones.
The victim, a 35-year-old housewife, filed a case against nine people 33 days after the incident around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Previously, the police arrested two people in a raid. Police arrested one defendant at 4 p.m. Sunday and another at 11 p.m. in the 9th district of Eklashpur Union.
They are the son of Sheikh Ahmed Dulal, Md. Haridon Bhuiyan, from the Khalpar area of Joykrunchpur village of Eklashpur Union District 9. Abdur Rahim (20) and Mohar Ali Munshi from the same area, son of the late Abdur Rahim. Rahmat Ullah (41 years old).
