A boy named Nawrat Hanif (8) died 10-15 minutes after receiving the measles and rubella vaccine in Lohagara, Chittagong.
The family has made those accusations. The matter was reported to Ittefaq by the boy’s cousin, Safayet Jahin Antar.
The incident took place at Uttar Kalauzan in upazila on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Nawat Hanif Kalauzan, daughter of expatriate Hanif Chowdhury Shimul from the Shamsu president’s home in Sikder Para District 1. She was a daycare student at the Chittagong Modern Institute.
After the incident, the vaccination health inspector Jebunnisa and other health workers wanted to flee, but the local vaccination center surrounded the boy’s family. Later, the police arrived at the scene and controlled the situation.

Safayet Zahin, a cousin of the deceased boy, told Antar Ittefaq that Nawrat Hanif fell ill shortly after receiving the measles vaccine after 10 am and died on the way to the hospital.
Upazila Health and P: Q: Officer Dr. Mohammad Hanif said he went to the scene after learning of the incident. An investigative committee headed by a civil surgeon was formed into the incident. He said the true mystery of the boy’s death would be known after an investigation.

Lohagara Upazila Executive Director. Ahsan Habib Jitu said he went to the place. If the child has abnormalities after the injection, he dies on the way to the hospital. The health department has formed an investigative committee on this. The investigation team will visit the site on Monday. He said the investigative committee would investigate the negligence of four health workers at the vaccination center.
