But now they are not going to any counter-committee. They said that the next step would be taken after discussing it with everyone.

After Ahmad Shafi’s death, the post of Emir of Hifazat was vacated. That is why a conference was convened at Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari on Sunday, but many Shafi supporters were not invited.

At the end of the council, Junaid Babungari was announced as emir and Nur Hossain Qasemi as secretary general of the new committee.

When Ahmed Shafi was the Amir, his student Junaid Babungari was the Secretary General and the coordinator of the Dhaka Metropolitan Committee Nur Hossain Qasemi was the Central Naib Amir.

Anas Madani, the son of Moinuddin Ruhi, the committee’s deputy general secretary, and the son of Ahmed Shafi, did not get a seat on the committee announced Sunday.

In the middle of this year, Babungari lost the position of madrasa in a conflict with Shafi’s son, Anas Madani, but remained in the post of general secretary of Hefazat.

Ahmed Shafi resigned as director general of the madrassa amid protests from a group of madrassa students. His son Anas Madani was also fired. Then Babungari returned to the madrasa post.

Ahmed Shafi died the day after losing control of Hathazari Madrasa. As a result, Shafir’s followers have opposed him since the Babungaris became active to fill Amir’s vacancy.

After announcing the new committee on Sunday, Moinuddin Ruhi told bdnews24.com, “This committee is illegal. We rejected it.

“The convener of this council, Mahibullah Babungari, is not even a member of Hefazat-e-Islam. Such a person cannot chair the council.”

Moinuddin Ruhi claimed that the council meeting held in Hathazari Madrasa on Sunday was not attended by all 75 members of the Central Committee.

He said: “Now I am in Dhaka. I sat in a meeting with senior leaders. As there is no constitutional council or decision, everything is illegal ”.

When asked about his next steps, he said: “We will discuss and decide. Only time will tell what we will do. I will let you know that decision.”

Speaking at a press conference at the Chittagong Press Club on Saturday, Ruhi claimed that Ahmed Shafi had been deliberately driven to death by the Jamaat-Shibir conspiracy.

Shafi’s brother-in-law, Hefazat leader, Moin Uddin, was also present at the press conference.

Moin Uddin told bdnews24.com on Sunday: “We were not invited. They have unilaterally reconciled.

“Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi’s students, admirers and followers are scattered throughout the country. Whatever needs to be done will be done in consultation with them. “

Ahmed Shafi’s youngest son tried to contact Hefazat leader Anas Madani to find out, but was unable to obtain his statement.
