Azerbaijan has managed to liberate many territories from Armenian occupation. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that they are now on the verge of winning Karabakh.
On Sunday, the Turkish president thanked Baku for rescuing Shusha, Karabakh’s second-largest city, from Armenian occupation.
Hours earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced Shusha’s victory on Sunday, saying that the sound of the call to prayer would be heard again in Shusha after 26 years.
“We are close to victory,” Erdogan told the party’s provincial congress on Saturday.
Please note that the reconquest of the city of Shusha is a very important victory for the Azerbaijani army. Azerbaijan sees this as one of the biggest victories in the war that started on September 26.
Shusha city is located in an important place. It is located just 15 kilometers from the Armenian-occupied capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, Stepanocart (Khanakendi). Also, the only road to get to the main Armenia is through the city of Shusha.
Last week, an occupying Armenian separatist leader in Nagarno-Karabakh declared: “The Azerbaijani army is close to occupying the city of Shusha.”

He called on the Armenians to step forward to defend Shusha, the second largest and strategically important city in Karabakh.
