BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the Awami League government does not believe in democracy. Mirza Fakhrul, addressing the government, said: “A lot has happened.” It can’t go on like this anymore. Organize elections under a neutral government by resigning immediately after reading the language of the people. Otherwise, everyone will be swept away by the waves of people. I also want to tell people that they will no longer be silent. Everyone has to stand up. We have to regain our rights and democracy.
The BNP secretary general said the government brings cases and arrests journalists, politicians and ordinary people every time they write or speak on social media to suppress dissent. Many journalists are being tortured today. The case in which the journalist Ruhul Amin Ghazi was arrested is a case of lies, defamation and misinterpretation. Journalists do not dare to write today because of the law that this government made.
Mirza Fakhrul demanded the release of Ruhul Amin Ghazi and Abul Asad, editor of the daily Sangram, and the withdrawal of all false cases brought against journalists.
