Pabna (Ishwardi): The Awami League candidate, Nuruzzaman Biswas, won the Pabna-4 (Ishwardi-Atgharia) constituency by-elections. He got two lakh 46,532 votes for the ship symbol.

Abdul Latif Sheikh, Pabna District Return Officer, announced the results after counting votes in 129 centers in Ishwardi and Atgharia upazilas on Saturday night (September 28).

His closest BNP candidate, Habibur Rahman Habib, got 5,058 votes and the Jatiya Party candidate, Rezaul Karim Khokon, got 3,084 votes. The total number of voters in this constituency is three lakh 61,112.

There are 84 polling stations in Ishwardi upazila. The total number of voters in this upazila is two lakh 54 thousand 97 people. Of these, one lakh 26 thousand 17 are male voters and one lakh 25 thousand 921 are female voters.

There are 45 polling stations in Atgharia upazila. The number of voters is one lakh 26 thousand 15. Of these, 73,538 are men. 83,479 women.

Awami League candidate Shamsur Rahman Sharif won the seat of Pabna-4 five times in a row between 1996 and 2017. This seat was declared vacant upon his death on April 2. And by-elections are organized.
