The list of candidates was finalized at a meeting of the Local Government People’s Representative Nominating Board chaired by Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in Ganobhaban on Saturday.
There are 5 municipalities in the Rangpur division, 4 in the Rajshahi division, 3 in the Khulna division, 4 in the Barisal division, 3 in the Dhaka division, 2 in the Mymensingh division, 3 in the Sylhet division, and 1 in the Chittagong division.
Rangpur Division Panchagarh Zakia Khatun Township, Thakurgaon Pirganj. Kashirul Alam, Dinajpur Phulbari Khwaja Moinuddin, Rangpur Badarganj. Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury and Kaziul Islam are candidates for the Awami League in Kurigram Township.
Rabiul Islam in Puthia of Rajshahi Division, Abbas Ali in Katakhali Township, Monir Akhter Khan Taru Lodi in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj, Sakhawat Hossain Sakho in Chatmohar of Pabna and Al Mashum Murshed in Khoksa Municipality of Kushtia in Kushtia Division Khulna have received nominations from the party.
Sanat Kumar Biswas in Chalna Municipality of Khulna, Riazul Islam Joardar in Chuadanga Municipality, ABM Golam Kabir in Betagi Municipality of Barguna Division, Barek Mollah in Kuakata of Patuakhali, Gayasuddi Beper in Bakir of Uzirpur of Barisal.
Ramzan Ali in Manikganj Township of Dhaka Division, Golam Kabir in Dhamrai Township, Anisur Rahman in Gazipur Sreepur Township, SM Iqbal Hossain in Gafargaon Township of Mymensingh Division and Abdul Hannan Talukder in the Madan municipality of Netrokona have been candidates.
Biswajit Roy in Dirai Township of Sylhet Division, Moulvibazar Abule Inam Md. Kamran Chowdhury, Masuduzzaman Masuk in Shayestaganj de Habiganj and Badiul Alam in Sitakundu Township of Chittagong Division have received nominations from the party.
