From now on, if someone buys a land, it will be automatically registered within eight days of registration. The cabinet approved a proposal to coordinate land registration and naming activities. Currently this activity has started in 16 upazilas. In a year it will start across the country. This will reduce the number of cases of harassment.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said the adjustment was made to ease suffering by facilitating land registration and naming.
The decision was made at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday morning. The Prime Minister participated in the virtual cabinet meeting from her official Ganobhaban residence.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam told reporters that the government has taken the initiative to coordinate land registration and naming activities to reduce problems with land. As a result, the land will be automatically registered within eight days of registration. This government initiative is pioneering. This will reduce the number of harassment cases. A new chapter has been created for the people of the country, the general public, investors.
The cabinet secretary said the prime minister had given instructions earlier this year on how to make land registration and naming more convenient. So that people are not harassed, it does not take time. The current system was completed by the Sub-Registry Office of the Ministry of Land Registry and Registration and the Land Office of the Upazila Circle under the Ministry of Lands. Being under two ministries made it difficult to get nominations all the time. Because of this there was delay and there was also ambiguity in the record. Anyone can register any land.
Khandaker Anwarul Islam said that from now on there will be internal software between the Deputy Registrar’s office and Aceland’s office. Four Rs 30 million lakh records have been posted online at all Aceland offices in Bangladesh. From now on, the Sub-Registrar Office and the Aceland Office will be able to access each other’s servers. When land goes to someone for registration, do not immediately register it with the sub-registrar. You will learn the Aceland Office Rights Registry statistics online.
‘I had to do two documents for so long. From now on you have to make three documents. There will also be an additional office in Aceland. Since Aceland is getting the documents online and the land has been verified and registered by him. So Aceland doesn’t need anything else. It will automatically complete mutation (namjari) through software management. No need to call anyone in this case. You have been given a maximum of eight days. But it won’t take eight days. In these eight days, the name will be registered automatically. Work has already started on 16 upazilas. The Cabinet Secretary added.
Khandaker Anwarul Islam said that many people register lands, they mutate, but they do not register. From now on you have to register. Aceland will be responsible for the monthly reports on how many mutations have occurred and how many have been recorded. Otherwise there are problems when paying the rent and there are many other problems.
At today’s meeting, Cabinet was briefed on the ‘Sustainable Development Goals: Progress Report in Bangladesh-2020’ and the establishment of a regional office of the Bangladesh Global Adaptation Center.
