Attempts to seize power by assassinating Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have been thwarted by the country’s National Security Service (NSS). The company claims that some dangerous former senior officials made this mischievous attempt. Former organization chief Artur Venetsian, Republican parliamentary party leader Vahram Baghdasarian and war volunteer Ashot Minasayan have been arrested on charges of conspiracy against the prime minister.

Armenia’s National Security Service said in a statement on Saturday (November 14) that the suspects were plotting to assassinate the prime minister and take power illegally, and were plotting to replace him with a new one.

It is noteworthy that after being on the brink of defeat in the war with Azerbaijan, protests against the Nagarno-Karabakh peace agreement negotiated by Russia have been raging in Armenia for several days. Scattered anti-government movements continue in various places, including the capital. The protesters rejected the peace agreement and demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nicole Pashinyan. But the prime minister made his statement on Facebook Live. He also ruled out the possibility of resignation. Meanwhile, he was charged with attempted murder.

Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed an agreement on Monday (November 9) after nearly six weeks of fighting. Azerbaijan has benefited the most from the Nagorno-Karabakh peace agreement.

It was agreed in the agreement that neither party will be involved in the war for the time being. Russian troops will patrol the area and keep the peace. It will occupy the area where it is stationed during the six week war. At the beginning of the war, the Azaris captured most of the important areas of Nagorno-Karabakh. As a result, Azerbaijan has benefited from the agreement. Armenia is in danger.

In places where Armenians are forced to burn down their houses, they are forced to flee. As a result, many Armenians living there are now displaced. In this situation, the pressure on the Prime Minister of the country is constantly increasing. The Armenian government is on the verge of uncertainty.
