Gazipur: Police arrested a man while trying to rob a bank in Gazipur with a bomb and take the manager hostage.
The incident took place at noon on Wednesday (September 18) at the Prime Bank Limited branch located at Shapla Mansion in the Chandna Chowrasta area of Gazipur City Corporation.
The detainee was identified as Abu Bakr, 32 years old. He is a resident of the Bisharighata area of the Moralganj Police Station in Bagerhat. Abu Bakar lives in the Board Bazar Battala area of Gazipur City Corporation.

The 11-member bomb disposal team of Dhaka Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) was subsequently briefed. They later arrived at the scene in the afternoon and defused the bomb.
