Attempts were made to rob a security guard at the Sabekpara branch of the Rupali Bank in Gabtali upazila in Bogra on Tuesday morning. The attempted robbery was caught by the bank’s closed circuit (CC) camera.
Motahar Hossain, a former branch manager for Rupali Bank, said the bank’s CCTV camera was intact. Captured on CCTV, two criminals in personal protective equipment (PPE), masks, monkey caps and masks broke the lock and entered the bank. A bank security guard warned him. He called the other. At that moment they had a fight with the criminals. The criminals stabbed one and threw some fuel at the other. The criminals stayed inside from 5:33 am to 5:48 pm
The two injured security guards are Masud Rana (32) and Habibur Rahman (28). They have been admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.
Assistant police of the Gabtali-Sariakandi circle super eliminated. Sabina Yasmin told Prothom Alo that the initial investigation after viewing the CCTV footage confirmed that two people had entered the bank. The criminals stabbed one. However, they couldn’t get anything out of the bank.
