Wahida Khanam, an officer of Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi (UN) in Dinajpur, and her father, Omar Ali Sheikh, have been in pre-trial detention for seven days.
Senior Judicial Magistrate (Amli Court-6) of Dinajpur Moniruzzaman Sarkar was presented in court on Sunday (6 September) at 4.30 pm.
Earlier on Saturday (September 6) evening, the RAB handed Asadul over to the Ghoraghat police. Later, the Ghoraghat police handed over Asadul Islam to the Detective Division (DB) of the Dinajpur police at 3.30pm on Saturday.
Imam Zafar from Dinajpur DB Police said: “We ask the judge for a 10-day pre-trial detention for further questioning.” The wise judge granted a preventive detention of seven days. We are taking the case seriously.
When asked, he said it was not a return in a theft case. This forwarding has led to all issues.
Earlier on Saturday (September 5), lead defendant Shishir Kumar Basu also detained Nabirul Islam and Santu Roy, seven other defendants in the case, for seven days. The pre-trial detention of Nabirul and Santu Roy has started since Sunday morning.
It emerged that on Wednesday (September 2), criminals broke the fan of the official UN residence and entered the house and assaulted Wahida and her father. ONE was seriously injured in the head and her father was seriously injured when she was stabbed with a sharp weapon.
Later, UNO was admitted for the first time to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RAMEC). After that, his condition was critical and he was taken to Dhaka by helicopter for better treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Hospital of the National Institute of Neurosciences in the capital.
