Sylhet police said. Raihan Ahmed murder case defendant and deputy assistant inspector (ASI) said. Ashek Elahi has been admitted to the hospital. He was admitted to the MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet on Saturday night after he felt chest pain while on remand.

Police Superintendent Muhammad Khaled-uz-Zaman from the Sylhet Office of Investigations (PBI) office confirmed the information. He said that Ashek Elahi, who felt chest pain on the advice of a doctor, was admitted to the heart department of the hospital.
According to PBI, Ashek Elahi was held in preventive detention for five days starting on October 29 under the pretext of arrest in the case. He worked at the Bandarbazar police station.

Raihan, a resident of Akhalia Niharipara in Sylhet city, was detained at the Bandarbazar outpost in Sylhet on the night of 10 October and tortured. He died the next day, October 11. Raihan used to work in a diagnostic center in the Rikabibazar area. On the night of October 11, his wife Tahmina Akhter filed a case with the Kotwali Police Station under the Prevention of Deaths Law. Four policemen, including Deputy Inspector (SI) Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, who was in charge of the outpost, were suspended and three others were removed from the outpost. ASI Ashek is one of three retired police officers. At around 3 am on October 10, ASI Ashek, together with a group of policemen, took Raihan to the outpost in the Kastghar area of ​​the city, accused of alleged kidnapping.
