Bangladesh Cyber Court judge Assam Jaglul Hossain issued the arrest warrant on Wednesday following a report from the Police Investigation Bureau (PBI).
Apart from Rita Dewan, the other two defendants in the case are Shahjahan and Iqbal. PBI Police Inspector Mizanur Rahman submitted a report to the court on October 29 stating that the “preliminary truth” of the allegations against the three had been found.

The charge sheet, filed under Section 26 (1) of the Digital Security Act, alleges that Rita Dewan made a “presumptuous and ugly” comment about the creator during a recent composition attack on an opponent.
Lawyer Imrul Hasan has alleged that the video of the song was spread on YouTube, hurting the “religious feelings” of the people.
Baul artist Rita Dewan apologized in an interview posted to YouTube on February 1 in the wake of criticism of the song.
Section 27 (1) of the Digital Security Act states: ‘If any person or group intentionally or knowingly publishes or promotes something on a website or in any other electronic format with the intention of hurting or inciting religious values or feelings, It would be an offense for a person to commit such an act if it damages values. If a person commits an offense under subsection (1), he shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding 5 (five) years or by a fine not exceeding 10 (ten) lakh rupees, or both.
