Dhaka has summoned the country’s ambassador to protest the Myanmar army patrol on a trawler near the Teknaf border and the deployment of troops in Rakhine. On Sunday a letter of protest was delivered to the Myanmar ambassador to the Foreign Ministry, in addition to a verbal protest. Director General of the Myanmar Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Delwar Hossain confirmed the matter to Ittefaq.

On Friday, some 1,000 Myanmar soldiers entered the tense Rakhine state, patrolling three points along the Teknaf border. Dhaka views the suspected army movement as a ploy to create tension on the border and destabilize Rakhine.

According to sources from the Foreign Ministry, Myanmar’s Ambassador to Dhaka Aung San Suu Kyi was summoned to the Foreign Ministry on Sunday afternoon for a new demonstration near the border without provocation. Dhaka has called on Myanmar to take immediate action to stop the deployment of troops at the border and put an end to all misunderstandings.

It is known that due to the concentration of the army, there is a danger of sowing a new fear among the Rohingya now in Rakhine. Dhaka has taken that step to avoid adverse situations.
