The 29-year-old Mohammad Sulaiman was arrested Friday night at a house in the Pahartali area of the port city. His ninth wife was also rescued.

The allegation against Sulaiman is that after marrying in this way, he took a large amount of money in the name of providing work for the relatives of various wives in different places. He used to borrow from various NGOs through his wives and then disappeared.
Sulaiman recently ‘ran away’ from his eighth wife in order to give his brother and sister a job by taking Rs 2.5 lakh and a loan of Rs 1 lakh from an NGO. It was then that the complaint went to the police, the operation began to catch him.
After his arrest, the police learned that Sulaiman had taken two lakh rupees as a dowry from his ninth wife.
The mother of the ninth wife has filed a lawsuit against her son-in-law at the Pahartali Police Station.
