At least 12 Azerbaijani civilians have been killed in an Armenian missile attack. Azerbaijan’s Attorney General’s Office said in a statement on Saturday. At least 40 more people were injured in the city of Ganja.

Azerbaijan says a missile fired by the Armenian army hit an apartment building in Ganja, the country’s second largest city.

Hikmat Hajiyev, aide to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, said on Twitter that preliminary information showed that several houses had been destroyed.

Armenia has denied the allegations, saying Armenia has continued to shoot Stepanakart in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan.

The French news agency AFP reported that a second missile hit Ganja early Saturday morning. A third missile hit the strategic city of Mingsevier. The missile attack came hours after Azerbaijani Armenian rebels fired on the capital, Stepanakart.

Rescuers are working at the scene, according to AFP. They saw the body carried in a black bag. Several houses were completely destroyed in the attack. Source: Parstuday
