Iran has shot down an Armenian drone. It was demolished in the airspace of the Ardabil province of the country.

Azerbaijani Azvishan media reported on Monday that the drone was believed to be from Armenia. Citing sources familiar with the situation, the type of drone has been clarified. It has been identified as an inspection drone.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have started new hostilities since September 26 due to the opposition from Nagorno-Karabakh.

Both sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire on humanitarian grounds. During the ceasefire, the two countries agreed to exchange POWs and other prisoners and hand over their bodies.

The ceasefire would take effect on October 11. But within minutes of the ceasefire, Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

For the second time since the ceasefire on Saturday night, 13 civilians were killed in an Armenian missile attack in Ganja. Among them are four women and three children. In addition, 50 people were injured in the attack.

The Karabakh region is internationally recognized as a territory of Azerbaijan. However, the region has been controlled by ethnic Armenians since the 1990s. In that decade, more than 30,000 people died in wars with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
