Armenia violates ceasefire, accuses Azerbaijan | World | DW

After a long meeting, Azerbaijan and Armenia decided on a temporary ceasefire last Saturday. The decision was made through the mediation of Moscow. But the war did not stop. This time, the Azerbaijani government claimed that Armenia had violated the first ceasefire. That is why they have been forced to respond.

Azerbaijan claims that the Armenian army launched a ballistic missile attack on Ganja, the second largest city in Azerbaijan, a few hours after the ceasefire was declared. Ganja is located about 240 kilometers from the border with Armenia. Ganjar is about 98 km from the disputed area of Nagorno-Karabakh, ravaged by the war. There is no Azerbaijani military structure in this regard. As a result, Armenia does not adhere to the general principles of the war. The common people are being attacked. In fact, Azerbaijan says that at least seven people were killed in a missile attack on Ganja. Many injured. Including children. According to eyewitnesses, a part of Ganjar was reduced to rubble after the attack that day. Many children have been orphaned overnight. The Azerbaijani administration now sends the children home. The children told reporters how they saw their parents and other family members die in front of their eyes. How they survived for a time. Not everyone survived. Many children were admitted to Ganjar Hospital in critical condition.

Armenia, however, has denied Azerbaijan’s claim from the start. They also said Thursday that they were targeting only Azerbaijan’s military structure. Ordinary people are never your target. But in reality, not only cannabis, but also ordinary people’s houses in various Azerbaijani cities have been destroyed by rockets and missiles launched by Armenians.

Azerbaijan said on Thursday that the Azerbaijani army had been able to destroy the launch pads of Armenian rockets and missiles. The attack is alleged to have taken place in different cities in Azerbaijan. Armenia alleges that, in the name of the war, the Azeri army reduced Nagorno-Karabakh to rubble. One attack after another has been carried out against the Armenian people there. In fact, several human rights groups have reported that thousands of people are fleeing Nagorno-Karabakh. The Armenian prime minister said there were many casualties and many lives were lost.

Russia, on the one hand, and Iran, on the other, have repeatedly called on the two countries to stop fighting and sit down for peace talks. A joint committee of Russia, France and the United States has more than once proposed mediation in the talks between the two countries. But both countries have yet to show interest in ending the war.
