Appeal to file a sedition case against Mamunul Haque

DHAKA: Supreme Court attorney Mohammad Ali asked the Interior Ministry for permission to file a sedition case against Maulana Khelafat Majlis leader Maulana Mamunul Haque Gang for harshly criticizing the sculpture. Zeeshan Mahmood.

The request was submitted to the chief secretary of the ministry on Sunday (December 6) at 3 pm.

Maryland. Zeeshan Mahmud told banglanews that government approval is required as a precondition for hearing the sedition charges in accordance with the provisions of Section 197 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. A request has been submitted to the Ministry of the Interior for this.

According to the petition, Maulana Mamunul Haque, leader of Khilafah Majlis, strongly criticized the creation of a sculpture of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at a function in Dhaka on November 13. He warned the government that if it did not back down in its plan to build the sculpture, it would cause another incident at Shapla Chattar and throw the sculpture away.

On the other hand, Amir Junaid Babungari from Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh said at a meeting held at the Hathazari Parbati High School campus in Chittagong on the night of November 26 that if any sculpture is made, it will be dragged away. His arrogant statements have been widely published and broadcast in various national newspapers and electronic media in recent days.

The petition further stated that his followers broke his right hand and the entire face or part of the sculpture under construction of the nation’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kushtia on the night of December 4 in the darkness of his bold statement. Bangabandhu is another name for Bangladesh, the father of the nation recognized by the constitution. Hitting the Bangabandhu sculpture amounts to a conspiracy against a state called Bangladesh. With the direct help of Maulana Mamunul Haque and Junaid Babu, the evildoers struck the sculpture of Bangabandhu. Which is insulting, unacceptable to the people of Bangladesh and their arrogant statements and actions have been made with the ill intention of creating disgust and hatred towards the government of Bangladesh.

Maulana Mamunul Haque Gangra has committed an offense punishable under article 123A / 124A / 505 of the Penal Code. Which would be considered a crime of sedition. Therefore, the lawyer mentioned in the lawsuit that he is interested in presenting a case against Mamunul Haque properly.
