Anisuzzaman, a researcher and teacher of Bengali language and literature, died at 4:55 pm Thursday while receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka. He was 63 years old.

Anisuzzaman, a member of the Kudrat-i-Khuda Education Commission in 1972, was president of the Bangla Academy. He also taught at Chittagong University before Dhaka University.
In addition to teaching, researching, and composing basic literature in his long career, Professor Anisuzzaman has edited numerous books individually and collectively.
The government awarded him the Ekushey Padak in 1975 for his contribution to the Bengali language and literature; He received the Swadhinata Puraskar in 2015 for his contribution to literature.
