Donald Trump fired a senior election official after denying allegations of vote rigging in the US presidential election.
Trump himself said that on Twitter.
In a message on Twitter Tuesday, President Trump said he had “fired” Chris Krebs, director of the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), for making “grossly misleading” comments about the fairness of the vote.
Krebs is said to have caused a stir in the White House with a website called “Rumor Check.”
The website itself used to highlight the futility of election misinformation, and the president himself played a role in spreading most of that information.
Krebs has no regrets about being fired. In a tweet after his dismissal, he said: “I am honored to be able to serve. We did it well. “
Earlier, he denied Trump’s allegations in a tweet. “The 59 election security officials who have been accused of tampering with the electoral system agree that ‘all allegations that we know of have been made without any evidence or are technically impossible,'” he said. ”
Several top Interior Ministry officials announced last week that the elections were the safest in US history. Krebs is one of them.
Despite losing a landslide victory in this election, Trump has repeatedly declared himself the winner, citing fraud. In between, he admits that Joe Biden has won. But then less than 24 hours later, he claimed on Twitter that we had won.
