An Indian girl came to Bangladesh after crossing the border from Doarabazar in Sunamganj. She went to the home of her boyfriend Abdus Sattar (28) in the Upazila village of Kalaura. She then married Abdus Sattar in Bahrain on her mobile phone. But the extreme disaster occurred only after the BGB found out.

The BGB arrested the girl on Wednesday night (September 18) and handed her over to the Doarabazar police station. When police turned him over to court on Thursday (September 18), the court ordered that he be sent to jail.

The girl’s name is Manjura Begum (20). She is the daughter of Mugur Ali from the Tapar Pathar village under the Changsari Police Station in the Kamrup district of Assam province, India. Last Tuesday (September 15) she entered Bangladesh through the Bangladesh area on the Doarabazar border.

Locals said that Abdus Sattar, the son of Abul Kashem from Kalaura village, fled to Assam, India, five years ago after being convicted in one case. It was there that he met Manjura Begum. A love story developed between them. A year later, Sattar moved to Bangladesh. Then he moved to Bahrain. For a long time, their love story continued through mobile. Last Tuesday, Abdus Sattar asked the girl to leave Bahrain and go to Bangladesh. The Indian girl left for Bangladesh around 9 am that day. Sattar’s younger brother Imran brought the girl home from the Doarabazar border. Later, with the consent of Manjura Begum, he married Sattar in Bahrain through his mobile phone.

Police said Manjura Begum was arrested Wednesday afternoon with a tip. The BGB filed a lawsuit against Manjura Begum at the Doarabazar police station for entering Bangladesh without permission and handed her over to the police station at night.

Said the Doarabazar police officer in charge (OC). Nazir Alam said the girl was sent to jail through court on Thursday.
