Dhaka: In the context of the corona virus, air bubbles are being introduced into the air communications between Bangladesh and India.
The issue was discussed in detail at a meeting of the Joint Advisory Commission (JCC) between the two countries on Tuesday (September 29).
According to sources, Bangladesh-India wants to start the flight of air bubbles. For this, there will be an agreement between the two countries. Under the agreement, an equal number of passengers will be able to travel by plane between the two countries under certain conditions. However, passengers can travel to India and Bangladesh, but not to a third country.
Passengers arriving in Bangladesh from India on the air bubble system will remain only in Bangladesh. And whoever goes to India from Bangladesh will stay only in India. Diplomats, businessmen and patients alike will have the opportunity to travel in these two categories.
Minister of Foreign Affairs at the end of the JCC meeting. According to AK Abdul Momen, there have been talks about launching an air bubble in the Bangladesh-India game. We want to turn it around quickly. We are also working on that. Instructions have also been given on how it will be implemented.
Dr. Momen added: “We have requested that travelers from Bangladesh be able to go to India by road. I also applied for visa facilitation. Because more people are going by road from Bangladesh, many are also going for treatment.
The Foreign Ministry said that the JCC meeting had decided to review the Corona epidemic to keep communication between the two countries active. The air bubble will be released accordingly. The routes that can be launched in Air Bubble will also be reviewed.
When India’s Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Sringla visited Bangladesh on August 16, he proposed to launch an air bubble between the two countries. Since then, both parties have been working to launch it. India has already signed agreements with 14 countries to launch air bubbles. India is eager to launch it with Bangladesh.
The JCC meeting began at 3.30 pm on Tuesday. The meeting lasted an hour. This time the meeting is virtual. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr., led the meeting on behalf of Bangladesh. AK Abdul Momen. And the country’s foreign minister led on behalf of India. S. Jayashankar.
According to the sources, all the important cooperation issues between the two countries were discussed at the sixth meeting of the MTC between Bangladesh and India this year. In particular, the meeting discussed issues related to the common river water exchange, including Teesta, assassinations at the border, India’s credit line, defense, connectivity, security, trade and commerce, etc.
Never before has there been a virtual meeting of the MTC between the two countries. This is the first JCC meeting to be held virtually due to the corona virus. The fifth meeting of the JCC was held in Delhi. Chancellor on February 8, 2019. The meeting was chaired by AK Abdul Momen and the then Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.
