Recently, a notice has been posted to hire an indefinite number of manpower for the elementary assistant teacher position. The application fee for the hiring of teachers in public primary schools under the Department of Primary Education (DPE) has been set at 110 Tk. Interested candidates must submit their application online. Candidates from all other districts of the country can apply, except Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban. Although the number of positions was not mentioned in the notification, various media reports said that the Department of Elementary Education has issued a notification for the hiring of 32,057 assistant teachers in government elementary schools. Of these, 25,630 will be hired for pre-primary and 6,948 for vacant primary schools.
The salary of assistant teachers will be Rs 11,000-26590 according to the 13th grade of the national salary scale, 2015.
From 2009 to 2019, 1 lakh 96 thousand 84 teachers have been appointed in government primary schools. Although Mujib had planned to fill all the vacancies in the year, it was not possible due to the situation in Corona. However, last September, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education took the initiative to finalize the hiring process. The hiring notice was published in October.
Following this initiative of the ministry, the Department of Primary Education proposed last September to appoint teachers in government elementary schools without quotas. The primary teacher position has been converted to thirteenth grade.
