Dhaka: Trading ended on Tuesday (December 22), the third business day of the week, with the capital market index down. Although the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock exchange, saw a decline in transactions that day, the other market, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), rose.

Market analysis showed that on Tuesday, the main DSE DSEX price index fell 18 points to 5,098 points. Among the other two indices, the DSE Shariah Index is down 4 points and the DSE-30 Index is down 5 points to 117 and 1612 points respectively.
Stocks and mutual funds worth Tk 975.51 million were traded at the DSE. Rs 162 crore less than the previous business day. The previous day’s transaction in DSE was 1,138 crore 34 lakh.
The shares of 356 companies and mutual fund units were traded on the DSE. Of these, the prices of 74 companies rose, 175 fell, and the unit prices of stocks and mutual funds of 6 companies were unchanged.
The top 10 companies listed on Tuesday were Beximco Limited, Beximco Pharma, Rupali Insurance, Larfazholsim, Fortune Su, Orion Pharma, BSCCL, IFIC Bank, People’s Insurance and Republic Insurance.
On the other hand, the general index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI increased by 64 points to 14,754 points. Of the 282 companies that changed hands in the CSE, the share price of 8 companies increased, the share price of 147 companies decreased, and the share price of 50 companies was unchanged. 48 crore 8 lakh shares and units were traded on CSE. Which is 19 crore more than the day before. The day before, there was a Tk 26 crore 73 lakh transaction on CSE.
