Bakshiganj police arrested her husband Rashed Mia, 30, for raping his wife with a friend in Bakshiganj of Jamalpur. Rashed was arrested at his home in the early hours of Friday (October 9) after a case was brought against him and two other people at the Bakshiganj Police Station. However, his friend Mosharraf Hossain runs away.
Rashed Mia is the son of Mandal Mia from Binoder village in Bakshiganj upazila. And Mosharraf Hossain is the son of Nehal Miah from the Paglapara village of the same upazila.
According to sources in the case, Rashed has been pressuring his wife to have sex with other people for a long time out of greed for money. He physically abused his wife for disagreeing. Last Wednesday night, a friend called Musharraf and pressured his wife to have sex. Musharraf raped her later.
Bakshiganj (SI) Police Deputy Inspector Akikul Hossain, who is investigating the case, said the case was registered as soon as the wife filed a complaint. Later in the morning, Rashed was arrested. An attempt is being made to arrest another accused, Musharraf.
Bakshiganj Police Officer in Charge (CO) Shafiqul Islam Samrat said that one defendant was arrested on the basis of the case and sent to Jamalpur court. The victim has been sent to Jamalpur Medical College for a medical examination.
Deputy Deputy Inspector of the Jamalpur Judicial Court of First Instance. Shahjahan Mia told the Bengali Tribune that when Rashed Mia was brought before the Magistrates Court, Judge CGM Muhammad Rafiqul Islam canceled his bail and sent him to jail.
