Rangpur Metropolitan DB: A police ASI was called to a house in the square pool area of the Haragachh police station in the metropolis and a ninth grade student was allegedly gang-raped. According to family sources of the victim, ASI Raihanul Islam of the DB Metropolitan Police had a love affair with a ninth-grade student from the Mainakuthi Kachutari area of the Haragachh Police Station in Rangpur. During the introduction, Raihan told the student that his nickname was Raju. On Sunday morning, Raihan called the girl at the home of Aleya Begum, a tenant of Shahidullah Miah in the Kadar pool area. After raping the girl there, Raihan raped her with other young men he knew. When the student became ill in the incident, she went out and reported it to the police. At around 8.30 pm, the police rescued the girl from the house together with tenant Aleya Begum and took her to the police station. The family was informed.
After questioning, the student’s father filed a rape case by mentioning the names of two people, including Aynal police member Raju. Police admitted the sick student to Ward 13 of Rangpur Medical College Hospital at 12:15 pm. There are also complaints against the police officer for taking the girl home at different times and carrying out antisocial activities.
The student’s mother said that my daughter used to talk to ASI Raihan from the DB police and she used to meet him from time to time.
Case witness Atiyar Rahman, an uncle from the house next to the rape, said that ASI Raihanul met my niece while trying to catch the defendant in the case. Since then a good relationship has been formed with them. My niece used to talk to him. My niece is a ninth grade student at Mainakuthi High School. She is very good at studying.
Meanwhile, Abu Maruf Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner for Police (Crime) at the Haragachh Police Station, told bdnews24.com that he was allegedly raped by two men during preliminary questioning. He spoke of a policeman named Raju. However, to confirm whether the Raju is ASI Raihanul from the DB police, Raihanul is also being questioned in police custody. He also said that the investigation of the case is still at an early stage.
