The president of the Raipura Upazila Chhatra League of Narsingdi, Asadul Haque Chowdhury, has been accused of raping a schoolgirl (18) by calling her from her home. The schoolgirl was rescued and kept in police custody.
The schoolgirl’s father filed a case against Asadul Haque Chowdhury Shakil and two other individuals at the Raipura police station on Friday (October 23).
According to the police and the victim’s family sources, the president of the Raipura Upazila Chhatra League, Asadul Haque Chowdhury Shakil, called the tenth-class girl from Nabiabad village to the Raju Auditorium around 10 p.m. Thursday (22 October). He later raped her around 11pm. At that moment, the people of the area came forward to the shout of the schoolgirl, but the leader of BCL, Shakil, managed to escape. Later, when the National Emergency Service called 999, the Raipura police rescued the schoolgirl and took her to the police station.
Confirming the incident, Raipura Police Officer in Charge (CO) Mohsin Qadir said that a case has been registered against two people, including BCL leader Shakil. An attempt is being made to arrest the accused. The tortured schoolgirl is in police custody.
The schoolgirl’s father said: The leader of the Chhatra League, Shakil, tortured my daughter inhumanely. I want a fair trial.
