Administrative officials and employees are upset by the abuse of power and immoral behavior of the chairman of Aditmari Upazila Parishad, Farooq Imrul Kayes, in Lalmonirhat. Sixteen officials, including the Upazila Nirbahi (UN) officer, have filed a written complaint against him with the Deputy Commissioner.
According to the charge sheet, the chairman of Aditmari Upazila Parishad, Farooq Imrul Kayes, has violated the rules and regulations since he was elected. She claimed her share of the money earmarked for Upazila Parishad’s various activities: VGD (Vulnerable Group Development), Maternity Allowance, Agricultural Incentives, Social Security Beneficiaries. When he protested, he verbally abused the officer and threatened to beat him.
Imrul Kayes claimed her participation in the VGD and maternity allowance list at the monthly coordination meeting on November 12. ONE Muhammad Mansur Uddin rejected him because he did not agree with the rules. Enraged, he left the meeting unfinished. Imrul Kayes then ordered his men to turn on the CCTV cameras in UNO’s office. When he wanted to know why, he insulted Mansur Uddin in vulgar language. He also threatened: ‘If I talk too much, I will beat him up and send him to Narsingdi. Is the Upazila Parishad owned by your father, will you run the Upazila Parishad?
Last Thursday night, 16 officials from Mansur Uddinh Upazila filed a written complaint with the Deputy Commissioner. Copies of the charge sheet have been sent to the local MP, the Minister of Social Welfare and the Rangpur Division Commissioner.

He said: “In the public interest, officials are angry because they want to know the work progress of all departments in the last financial year. Other officials, including the UN, have made false accusations. If there is a proper investigation, irregularities and corruption of officials will come to light.
