Moin Uddin said: “We have presented a case in court seeking justice for the murder of Hazur (Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi). The court has ordered the PBI (Police Investigation Office) to investigate. The culprits will be identified in the investigation. But sadly, Amir Allama Junaid Babungari and Mamunul Gang of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh have threatened one after the other to drop the case. He added: “We have learned that Junaid Babungari is personally inciting many innocent teachers and students of the madrasa. Hathazari purposely held a press conference using the madrasa.
Allama Shafi’s brother-in-law said: ‘Why are you so scared? If they are not guilty, the investigation will prove it. Why are you threatening to withdraw the case? We strongly condemn and protest on behalf of the family. He threatens to kill all of our family members, one after another, so that we cannot tell the truth after killing him. ”
Moin Uddin said: “If Junaid Babungari was not a criminal, then we have no personal resentment against him. If he is a criminal and is proven in the investigation, I demand his punishment and execution.
At the beginning of the press conference, the plaintiff said: ‘Allama Junaid Babungari and his associates held a press conference on December 23 at Hathazari Madrasa. An old scholar like Babungari lied at the press conference. He says that Allama Shafi’s death was normal; The lawsuit filed by the family is conspiratorial and politically motivated.
Hefazat founder Amir and Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, CEO of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Mueenul Islam Mardasa in Hathazari, Chittagong, died on September 17 this year while undergoing treatment at Azgar Ali Medical College Hospital. from Dhaka. He lost control of the madrasa before his death.
Then, on December 16, Allama Shafi filed a case in a Chittagong court alleging “mental torture and premeditated murder.” Moin Uddin. Hefazat-e-Islam Joint Secretaries General Maulana Nasir Uddin Munir and Muhammad Mamunul Haque, Deputy Organizing Secretary Maulana Mir Idris and 38 others were charged in the case.
Earlier, at a press conference organized by the family at the Chittagong Press Club on November 14, Moin Uddin alleged that Allama Shafi was “killed” by the ghosts of Jamaat-Shibir. He demanded a judicial investigation into the incident.
In addition to Moin Uddin, former Deputy Secretary General of Hifazat Moinuddin Ruhi and Sarwar Alam were also present at the press conference. Allama Shafi’s eldest son, Mohammad Yusuf, was supposed to be present, but did not show up for security reasons, his uncle Moin Uddin said.
