Only the Bangladesh Operators Association (COAB) has stopped the broadcast of seven Indian channels, including Star Plus and Star Jalsa, alleging arbitrariness against Jadu Vision, the Bangladeshi distributor. Among the seven channels, the five Star Group channels are Star Jalsa, Star Plus, Jalsa Movies, Star Gold and Star India and National Geographic Channel and NetWet Wild. The information was released at a press conference in Coab on Sunday.

In a written statement at the press conference, it was said: ‘Jadu Vision Ltd., the distributor of Star Group’s payment channels in Bangladesh. Coab’s Unity Council held a conference on October 28 to protest the lack of cooperation with cable operators, lack of cooperation in receiving payments from operators, refusal to provide supplemental rights receipts, and harassment of cable operators in various ways. At that press conference, only the operators had time until November 4 to resolve the issue. But since Jadu Vision has not taken any steps to resolve the issues within the time we gave it, most cable operators in Bangladesh have stopped broadcasting indefinitely since 6pm on November 4.

SM Anwar Parvez, President of Coab, told reporters: “Operators across the country have been instructed not to show these channels alone. He added that many cable operators have already withdrawn from these channels and others are in the works. He accused Magic Vision of misbehaving with operators and arbitrarily disconnecting ‘payment channels’.

Earlier, Kunal Deshmukh, CEO of Jadu Vision Limited, told reporters: “There are currently more than 600 legitimate cable operators in the country, some of whom are trying to prove their dominance by introducing some undesirable problems at various times by posing as Coab Unity Council “.

Meanwhile, Nizam Uddin Masood, the former secretary general of the Coab Unity Council, accused Kunal Deshmukh of providing false and offensive information about Coab through the media and social media despite being a foreign employee. In a statement, he said: “A foreign employee employed by them (Jadu Vision Ltd.) is not following the path to resolve the crisis.
