Jamalpur: In the three municipal elections in Jamalpur, the symbol of the Awami League ship that the mayoral candidates have won by a large margin.
The winning mayors are Mohammad Chanowar Hossain from Jamalpur Municipality, Abdul Quader Sek from Islampur Municipality, and Mirza Golam Kibria Kabir from Madarganj Municipality.
Elections for the three municipalities were held on Sunday (February 28) using the EVM system.
According to the District Returns Officer office, three candidates are running for mayor in the Jamalpur Township elections. Among them, the Awami League ship symbol candidate, the district Awami League organizing secretary, Mohammad Chanowar Hossain, won 45,598 votes and was elected mayor. His closest rival BNP Shah.
