The Public Administration Ministry on Thursday asked all ministries and departments to publish the notice establishing the maximum age limit for candidates on March 25 while publishing recruitment notices for other government positions except BCS.
However, it is not yet clear exactly how many positions or how many organizations will be eligible for the waiver.
In this regard, it has been said that the Ministries and Departments under which the directorates, directorates and agencies and the statutory, autonomous or promulgated bodies in various categories of government service (excluding BCS) are hired directly from the competent authority before March 25 . Due to the situation, the notification could not be published. In the call for hiring of these departments, it was requested to take the necessary measures to publish the notification, setting the maximum age limit of the candidate on March 25.
In other words, the ministries and departments that were unable to publish the recruitment notification even after completing the general preparation before March 25, have been asked to give the opportunity to apply to those who have turned 30 years before the March 25th.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has not issued any hiring notices during the six-day general holiday starting March 26 due to the increasing prevalence of Covid-19 in Bangladesh. Previously, the commission had not issued any new hiring notices since last December.
However, in the first week of June, after the general holiday of May 30, the PSC has published several hiring notices for non-executives. The maximum age limit has been set at 30 years until June 1.
Applications for government service can be made up to a maximum age of 30 years. And the sons, daughters and grandsons of freedom fighters can apply up to the maximum age of 32 years.
Many job seekers feel that even if some relief is provided to those who have spent 30 years in the epidemic, it is not enough to make up for the loss.
They say that as a result of the coronavirus crisis, job advertisements have stopped, not only for those in their 30s, but for all those who have suffered it. Therefore, the age limit for applying for a job for everyone should be increased at least a little.
