The police have rescued a 12-year-old child domestic worker who was seriously injured after receiving a call to 999 from the National Emergency Service. On Monday afternoon (November 30), the domestic worker was rescued from her home in the Baravita union village of Melabar in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari and admitted to the upazila hospital.
The boy was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital because his genital injury was severe. There he was placed in the One Stop Crisis Center and Cell (OCC) room. The abused girl is the daughter of a beggar from the village of Melabar in the Baravita junction of Kishoreganj upazila.
The boy’s mother said: “My daughter used to work as a domestic worker for two years through a person named Dalim Chandra Roy at the home of Kanta Begum and Rezaul Bari, a dentist in Adarshpara mahalla of Rangpur city.”
Kanta’s husband, Rezaul Bari, worked in the Naogaon government. On Saturday (November 26), Dalim Chandra Roy took me to the home of Kanta Khatun, a dentist in Rangpur. When they went there, they told me that my daughter had stolen money. So that they no longer keep him at home.
At that time my daughter did not steal money. However, the people of the house tortured the girl and burned her with a hot stick. In this situation, the dentist Kanta Begum and her husband handed the girl to me with my signature on a white 300 rupee stamp. I went back to town with my daughter. When I got here and saw that the physical condition of the girl was bad, I informed the villagers in detail. The villagers informed the police on Monday afternoon.
Nuruddin, a resident of the village, said: “After learning about the matter, we called the National Emergency Service on 999 and gave them details.” Then the police came, rescued the boy and took him to the hospital.
Sabir Hossain Sarkar, a doctor at the emergency department at the Kishoreganj Upazila Health Complex, said the boy had severe scars all over his body and genitals. The boy was rushed to the One Stop Crisis Center and Cell (OCC) ward at Rangpur Medical College Hospital by police. There he was admitted.
When asked about this, dentist Kanta Begum said that the girl had stolen money. That is why his mother was called. Later, the girl’s mother beat her. We do not kill or torture.
According to the child victim, the dentist Kanta Begum and her husband Rezaul Bari, Bari’s mother, Khaleda Begum, tortured me. Then they burned my private parts with hot sticks.
Kishoreganj OC Police (Investigation) Mofizul Haque said the boy was rescued and admitted to hospital after receiving a 999 call from the National Emergency Service. A GD has reported to the police station in this incident. The boy was handed over to the Rangpur District Police and admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital on the advice of a doctor.
