A housewife has been gang-raped in Banaripara de Barisal. Police arrested rapist Kawshar (30) and his accomplice Russell (35) in the incident. They were arrested in the municipality on Saturday afternoon. Hours earlier, the raped housewife (20) presented a case at the Banaripara police station 28 days after the rape.
According to the sources in the case, a housewife from the Mashrang village of the Sadar union of the Upazila got on her bus to go to her father’s house at around 6 pm on 15 August. At that time, Kawshar and his accomplice Russell in the car threatened him and took him to a secluded garden and raped him. From there, the housewife spent the night at her brother-in-law’s house in Mach Rang village and left for Dhaka with her husband the next day, August 17, at the launch. Meanwhile, the rapist picked up the mobile number of the housewife’s husband and called him, who expressed pride and intimidation by telling him that he had raped his wife.
On August 29, the housewife returned to Banaripara with her husband. When the rapists left the house, they began to harass and intimidate her on the way. As a result, the housewife filed a lawsuit against the two rapists on September 12 at noon.
