Jahangir Alam, a grocer in Karwan Bazar, told bdnews24.com on Friday that edible oil prices had been rising abnormally in the wholesale market for four days, which had affected the retail market.
He said palm oil and soybean oil have risen by 10 rupees per liter. Palm oil, which costs Tk 73 at retail, now sells for Tk 64. Soybean oil at Tk 75 is sold at Tk 95.
