The woman who brought charges of sexual harassment and physical abuse against the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, is now filing an attempted murder case against the 26-year-old batsman.
The news was confirmed by Pakistani media Geo News on Monday (December 6).
The woman, identified as Hamiza Mukhtar, claimed that several armed men on motorcycles opened fire on her car in front of the Kahna police station in Lahore.
When asked for protection by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, he said: “My life is in danger. I have received death threats for several days.”
Confirming the woman’s allegations, police said they would investigate the matter.
At the beginning of last week, Hamiza made several accusations against Babar Azam at a press conference. He claimed that he was Azam’s neighbor and a former classmate. A relationship developed between the two. But when he asked Babur to marry him, the cricketer “tricked” and “tortured” him. That’s what the woman said.
Hamiza has filed an application in the lower court. With this statement, he has given and spent “millions of rupees” of financial support behind “fighting” Babar to become a cricketer.
“When I called the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to complain, they said it was a personal matter,” he said. ‘
