After Babri Masjid, there is a demand in India to remove the Eidgah this time. A case has already been filed to request the return of the land.

Ranjana Agnihotri, a woman from Lucknow, presented a case requesting the removal of the Shahi Eidgah near Lord Krishna’s temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The case has been filed in the Mathura court on behalf of ‘Lord Krishna Birajman’.

The case was brought against the Sunni Waqf Board and the Shahi Eidgah Trust committee.

According to the case, Shrikrishna Janmasthan Trust and Shahi Eidgah Trust have occupied 13.36 acres of land on the temple premises. It has been stated in the case that Lord Krishna’s birthplace is below that Eidgah.

It is further claimed that in 1986, Sebasangha, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, handed over the land to the Eidgah Committee. But the association does not have jurisdiction to cede the land.

Previously, Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992 in Ayodhya, India. According to the Hindus, the mosque was built where Rama was born. A case was filed against him.

In the case, the Supreme Court of India ruled in favor of building a temple on the site. She also ordered the government to allocate five acres of land to build a mosque elsewhere in Ayodhya.

The new site where the mosque is currently being built is in the town of Dhannipur, about 25 km from the Ram temple. Source: Hindustan Times, G News
