Another half-dead body of a man was found in a bush near the railway line three days after a passenger train collided with a passenger bus at the Fatehpur railway crossing in Feni’s Sadar Upazila.
The body of the deceased was recovered Tuesday night and sent to the Feni General Hospital morgue.
The deceased was identified as Bachchu Mia, 48. He was an office assistant for the Halishahar branch of NCC Bank in Chittagong. His home is at the Gunavati Union of Comilla Upazila Chauddagram.
The Feni Railway Police outpost, SI Saiful Islam, confirmed the information.
He said that while searching for the cause of the stench near the crash site, they found a half-dead body in the bushes near the train track on Tuesday and reported imams from local mosques and people who came to offer prayers to police. .
Bachchu’s body was recovered Tuesday night and sent to the Feni General Hospital morgue.
Later, the police recovered the body and identified Bachchu through his identity card and mobile phone.
However, Bachchu is believed to have been a passenger on the NR Travels bus that crashed on Sunday. When the bus overturned due to the train collision, it fell into the bushes. Because of this, it could not be found.
SI Saiful further said that the railway authorities fired porter Abul Kalam on the day of the incident. In addition, a five-member investigation committee has been formed to find out the cause of the accident and report it within three working days.
